Woke up at about 4Am this morning and used the restroom and realized that I had gone to sleep at about 7pm the night before. I guess this is what jet lag is like but I'm not sure that it is as bad as what everyone says. Anyways I found a computer to use and sent off some email. Had some breakfast, cold coffee and a type of jello fruit. It was fruit surrounded by Jello, kinda weird. Went to the airport and had a proper breakfast which was a type of Pho with an egg. For some reason had a beer out of a vending machine which is awesome by the way. Sat around and waited to the flight.
530pm Jakarta.
Finally made it to Jakarta Indonesia and I am exhausted! Its only 530pm and I can barely think. I made it through customs fine and got some money changed. I changed 1,000 USD and that equals a giant stack of cash which all the taxi drivers saw. This is why the guy who took me to my hotel raked me over the coals! I was too tired to argue and was completely out of my element. I think I spent 60USD getting to my hotel which is insane because it was about 10 miles from the airport. His win, my loss I guess but it is a terrible way to start a trip. Finally got to the city center where my hotel is and it is twice the 30USD I thought it was going to be. But again too tired to look for another place. I took a shower and laid down a while and got a bit more energy. I ventured outside and found a road stall to get some grilled fish. It was pretty good and kids working there were amazingly nice. The meal was about 4USD which included a very bitter Coke (not at all like the Central American sweeter coke). I walked around a bit more and finally had to crash at about 9pm.
